Since I rarely use the darn OLD laptop PC anyway, sometimes I wonder WHY I bother running monthly Windows updates on it. Seems every month, the updates take longer and longer to download/install. Takes most of an afternoon currently to complete.

'Bout time I RETIRED the thing!

Thinking I should just "retire" the ol' laptop computer. I don't use it often anyway, and when I run the monthly Windows updates, it's gotten to the point it takes at LEAST four hours or more to complete.

In contrast, the desktop finishes up in less than 20 minutes, including the downloads.

Second Tuesday Windows Updates successfully completed on the two Windows 10 computers and the one Vista machine.

Looks like the update to Windows​ insider Build 10576 is going to be a NO GO on the laptop. No matter what I do, get error 0x80070005. First time having this issue with the builds since starting them in January. The update on the desktop went flawlessly however.

Got another email in Gmail this morning which was obviously meant for someone else, this time thanking me for joining Pandora. I have not, and probably never WILL, subscribe to online music streaming services. Don't have a use for them. The links in the email check out fine for the actual website, so, once again, NOT "phishing" attempts. Getting so ( Read more... )

Damn raccoons got into the NEW garbage can for the first time last night. Might have been MY fault though. Had to move the cans to get the mowers out yesterday, and there were footprints on TOP of the shorter can. I had been keeping them a distance from each other, but was so pooped after doing the yard yesterday, I forgot to move the cans back. So ( Read more... )
